Porter Expands Intracity Logistics Services to Visakhapatnam

 

- The expansion aims to enhance logistics infrastructure and accessibility in tier II & III Andhra

Pradesh, complementing its existing operations across India.

India, 2024: Porter, one of India’s leading tech-driven, on-demand logistics companies, is pleased to

announce its entry into Visakhapatnam, offering a comprehensive suite of logistics services. This

move marks a significant milestone in Porter’s decade-long journey, as it extends its comprehensive

suite of logistics services to one of Andhra Pradesh’s most rapidly growing urban centres. Deploying

a fleet of Two-Wheelers, Porter plans to further diversify its offerings in the coming months by

introducing three-wheelers, thus catering to a wider array of logistics requirements.

Visakhapatnam, the largest city in Andhra Pradesh and the prospective Executive capital of the state,

has long been recognized for its strategic geographical position as a critical trade hub. Recent

infrastructure developments, including the upcoming international airport and seaports, have

further enhanced its connectivity, positioning the city as a key player in India’s ‘Look East’ Policy. The

addition of Porter’s reliable, cost-effective logistics solutions is set to significantly bolster the city’s

capabilities in managing the increasing demand for efficient intracity transportation. To support its

operations in the city, Porter plans to onboard over 500 driver-partners, with projections indicating

growth to more than 5000 driver-partners by the end of the first operational year.

With 6.68 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) registered in Andhra Pradesh, the

need for streamlined logistics has never been greater. Porter’s services will play a crucial role in

supporting these enterprises, offering them a dependable and economical means of transporting

goods within the city, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and facilitating faster market reach.
