After a long wait of about 6 months gradually some of the Indian states are now opening its border for the tourists with some set of guidelines. The novel Coronavirus is still in pace but the good thing is that it is now achieving a great recovery rate. One might question whether it is safe to travel or go for a holiday? Yes, it is safe to travel but one must have to follow certain guidelines issued by the central/ state government to enjoy a safe vacation. Some states which rely massively on tourism for their economy have finally unlocked the borders for the entry of visitors provided they strictly follow the protocols and guidelines issued by the state government.
Rules and Guidelines for travelers:
- Carry a COVID-19 negative report, issued not earlier than 72 hours.
- Aarogya Setu app in mobile is compulsory
- 5 days of accommodation booking confirmation is compulsory.

However, the effect of COVID is not over yet but you can make your trip memorable by following the guideline mentioned above. Rajasthan – The land of colors
Rajasthan is one of the major states of India that depend on tourism and also one of the popular states to visit in India. It has now started allowing the tourist to adore its beauty. Now tourists are allowed to visit the protected monuments. For visiting these monuments every tourist has to follow the guideline issued by the state government. The government has also issued SOPs (standard operating procedures) to the management officials directing them to strictly practice sanitization, maintain social distancing, and thermal screenings. Tourists will only be permitted to enter in groups of five with the compulsory wearing of the face masks.

- Protected monuments are open for four days a week – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Goa – Pearl of the Orient

- It is mandatory to pre-book their stay at state-approved hotels only.
- Visitors are required to show a negative report of COVID-19 from the last 48 hours.
Madhya Pradesh – The Heart of India
Great news for nature and wildlife enthusiasts! Madhya Pradesh has now opened its border for tourism. The major highlight of the unlocking is that the forest department is reopening all the national parks in the state. Madhya Pradesh is one of the best places for tourism in India, a natural paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. It boasts about 11 national parks and 24 wildlife sanctuaries including Panna, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh National Park. Recently the state government has also declared the reopening of hotels and resorts along with various tourist activities. For more safety of the tourists, the tourism board of Madhya Pradesh is also offering RV caravans through which you can enjoy the on-road trip via caravan with great comfort. RV caravans are well-equipped vehicles that assure a safe ride following social distancing with good space; it also offers several halts at peaceful spots where you can enjoy a picnic with your loved ones.

Uttarakhand – The Land of Gods
Uttarakhand is one of the amazing places to visit in India and is now open for tourism. The state is now allowing tourists from all over India. Visitors must follow certain guidelines. The government has also allowed the hotels and homestays to accept bookings for a minimum of five days. The Chardham Yatra has begun from 26th April 2020 and will last till 30th November 2020.
Rules and Guidelines for travelers:
- The mandatory quarantine for the domestic travelers has been lifted but carrying COVID-19 negative test results issued within 72 hours is mandatory.
- Char Dham Yatra is limited only to citizens of Uttarakhand.
- No entry for the visitors after 10 PM and before 7 AM.
Himachal Pradesh – The State of Apples
Himachal Pradesh is one of the most beautiful states to visit in India. It is renowned for its exceptional climate, lush hills, orchids, ancient temples, scenic beauty, and many more. According to the state government, the state is open for tourism and allows visitors with standard operating procedures (SOPs) which will be issued by the tourism department. According to the Urban Development Minister Hon’ble Suresh Bhardwaj, no tourists will be allowed to visit without an e-pass. The regional movement will be screened through the ongoing registration process. Tourists can apply for the e-pass at the official website of Himachal Pradesh.
