Ather Rizta Review: The Perfect Electric Scooter For Your Family

National,  2024: Ather Energy, one of India’s leading electric scooter manufacturers, launched the Rizta, its first family scooter. The Rizta is a compelling option for those who are looking to purchase a practical electric scooter, offering ample storage, a large seat and great deal of comfort, convenience and safety. It feels easy and light to handle and has been packed with exciting features that enhance the overall riding experience. 

Design, Space, and Comfort

The Rizta has a modern look and comes in a variety of vibrant and appealing colours. Keeping the comfort and convenience of a typical Indian family in mind, the Rizta has a large seat, massive underseat storage space and a spacious floorboard. Ather Rizta has the longest seat in the segment and is large enough for two full-grown adults and a bag. The Rizta offers a well designed 34 litres of boot space which is one of the largest in the segment. The Rizta boot can comfortably fit a full face and a half face helmet and yet have space to store some more items. The storage compartment also includes a charging slot that can be used to charge mobile and other small electronic items. The Rizta also has a small storage compartment under the seat called the joey pocket for storing small items such as a wallet, keys and a cleaning cloth. 

Ather has prioritised enhancing rider and pillion comfort for urban commuting with the Rizta and has introduced one of the most comfortable scooter seats in the segment. Rizta’s seat has a thick and firm foam structure offering a comfortable yet stable seating posture. Enhancing pillion comfort, Ather has introduced a pillion backrest that offers excellent lumbar support and safety. The backrest will be included in both the Rizta Z variants and will be offered as an accessory on the Rizta S. 


Performance and range 

The Rizta S and Rizta Z with the 2.9 kWh battery offer an IDC range of 123 km and the Rizta Z with the 3.7 kWh battery offers that of 159 km on a single charge. With a top speed of 80km/h, the scooter has two modes- Zip mode and SmartEco mode. The linear throttle response of the product makes it easy for riders of all skill-levels to ride the scooter and can be easily ridden on steep slopes in parking lots. Overall, the Rizta offers a comfortable city riding experience. 

The scooter also comes with Ather’s Magic Twist feature, which is an evolution of conventional regenerative braking, can bring the scooter to a complete halt and works even at 100% battery charge. With the Magic Twist, users can brake with negative input on the throttle. It is highly intuitive, innovative, fun and is extremely practical and convenient in city riding conditions.
